I am extremely saddened to hear of Chris Griffis passing. I’ve known Chris Griffis since the 80’s and always thought he was a great race car mechanic and good organizer. He was very unassuming and just concentrated on doing a great job for whichever team he worked on. He was a resource for most anything you needed and taught buy the best, George Huening and John “Sarge” Anderson, at Patrick Racing. He worked with some great drivers like Mario
Andretti and Mauricio Gugelmin, Gordon Johncock and Emerson Fittipaldi, to name a few. Chris will be missed by Sam Schmidt Racing and the entire IndyCar fraternity.
